The Robert C. Byrd Clinical Teaching Center is directly attached to CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. WVU Physicians of Charleston provide physician services for the CAMC Outpatient Care Center, CAMC Vascular Center of Excellence and CAMC Family Medicine Center, all of which reside in the Robert C. Byrd Clinical Teaching Center. This facility also houses the WVU Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry.

Our mission is to provide excellent assessment and treatment of adults and children with psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems, and behavioral disorders. We offer a wide range of evidence based psychiatric, psychological, and neuropsychological services in a private and comfortable environment and are dedicated to providing you compassionate and high quality care with a very personal approach.

Our team is comprised of WVU faculty psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, as well as trainees in the various fields of mental health.

Our services include adult psychiatry, clinical psychology, clinical social work, child and adolescent psychiatry, child and adolescent psychology, dialectical behavior therapy, eating disorders, forensic psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, interpersonal psychotherapy, neuropsychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapy.

Restoring your mental well-being and satisfaction is our goal.

It is also our aspiration to continually improve our professional knowledge and skills through scholarly pursuit. Our providers are also faculty members of the West Virginia University School of Medicine, teaching the next generation of highly trained mental health professionals.

  • From the West, take Rt. 61 South (aka MacCorkle Ave. SE), to CAMC Memorial Division (31st St.). Take second right to 3100 MacCorkle Ave. SE.
  • From the East, take Rt.61 North (aka MacCorkle Ave. SE) to 31st St., turn at second right.
  • The CAMC Memorial parking building is located on your right directly across from the Hospital Entrance. This parking building serves as patient and visitor parking for all CAMC Memorial campus facilities.
  • The cost for parking is $1.00 per half hour, with a maximum $4.00 charge for all day parking
